While these two terms sound similar, they are very different and must not be confused with one another.
Pasteurized dairy products and eggs are what we would like for you to avoid. Pasteurized eggs are heated in their shells to kill the bacteria. While this sounds good in theory, the negative effects of the pasteurization process are not worth it. In addition to killing any potential salmonella in food, the beneficial bacteria, active enzymes, and vitamin content are also destroyed.
Pasture raised or pastured are terms that you want to look for when purchasing eggs. This means the eggs are laid by hens that get to spend their time roaming green pastures and eating the food that God intended for them to eat like grass and critters, rather than being cooped up in overcrowded cages eating factory made food.
For more information on the different types of eggs, refer to the "Organic Foods and Healthy Meats Guide" in Module 3 of your program.
