Once you begin to change your mindset on what breakfast foods are, a whole new world of possibilities will open up. Normally we think of things like pastries, cereal, oatmeal, or omelets (while a veggie omelet is a great option). Instead start to think of breakfast as “Meal #1.” That way it doesn’t have to be breakfast foods and it can just be left-over “Meal #3” (dinner). It may sound odd to have chicken and broccoli for breakfast, but this actually gives you the nutrition that you need, more so than any cereal or pastry.
Below are some delicious Meal #1 or breakfast options:
1. Pastured pork with sweet potato, kale, and onion hash
2. Take your favorite non breakfast meal and add spices like rosemary, thyme, sage, and fennel to create more of a breakfast flavor
You can also find several breakfast recipes in the Recipe Guide which can be found in the Additional Resources section of your program portal.
