We encourage you to always buy organic meats and produce when possible. If it isn’t possible to buy organic produce, you can use the Dirty Dozen / Clean Fifteen guide to see which produce should be avoided (Dirty Dozen) and which produce is acceptable, even if not organic (Clean Fifteen).
When it comes to meats, the following guide should be followed:
Beef: Organic, Grass-Fed and Finished is ideal. If you can’t find meat that meets all three requirements, Grass-Fed is the way to go
Poultry and Eggs: Organic and Pastured/Pasture-Raised is ideal
Pork: Pastured/ Pasture-Raised
